Elephant life seems a lot like ours…

After a week at work, the commute home can feel especially long, like you’ll never arrive at your destination…

A mid day nap might be in order, after lots of early mornings and late nights…

Nap time for the elephants on the Amboseli Plains.  No worries here about getting caught sleeping on the job.

 

And after a particularly trying day, a hug from a friend might be all that you need…

2017-05-19: Feel Good Friday

Last week I shared some images from my time in Ishasha, and this week, a mixed bag of images from my time in the Masai Mara region of Kenya.

A zebra giving me a quick stare down.  I find it is not too often that I get the opportunity to photograph a zebra straight on, as usually they turn away from the camera.

A lion cub giving us the once over, before moving off to play with its sibling and a stick!

A good 50% of the elephants that passed by our vehicle stopped and used this tree as a scratching post.

A cheetah on a wildebeest kill.  The weather was just calming after a torrential downpour, which might account for the miserable look on this cheetah’s face.  That, or the vultures hanging around nearby.

2017-04-21: Feel Good Friday

I’ve gotten these posts done ahead of time, as today I am heading back to Africa for another amazing adventure.  I am so looking forward to being out in nature, being close to elephants, and frankly, being warm (the winter has dragged on and spring has been slow to start).

I thought I would share a few of my artistic impression images, the ones that I edit to look like paintings or that end up a bit over the top.
